IT ENGINEERING ?
What is Information Technology
Information Technology (IT) is the application of technology to solve organizational and business problems. This field of engineering uses computers, networks, storage, and other technical infrastructure both hardware and software, to deal with and manipulate information/data. Information Technology (IT) professionals are adept with the latest emerging technologies, arriving at the most optimal (consuming least time and effort) solutions to any technical issues that may arise, small-scale or large. The responsibilities of an Information Technology department are many; professionals follow a combination of policies and processes to ensure IT systems run effectively and are aligned with the organization’s needs, they provide tech support, maintenance, device management and security testing services.

Upcoming trends
The IT industry is characterized by innovation and is perpetually undergoing many developments. Many new trends have emerged in the last few years and have fast become integrated into the workings of many industries.
Some of the newer topics in Information Technology that have attracted top industry leaders’ attention include:
Artificial Intelligence: Artificial Intelligence, combined with Machine Learning, is emerging as a very useful tool in achieving cost-saving solutions, efficient communication, streamlined workflow, improved customer interaction and satisfaction, and better insights into consumer behaviour. Professionals are yet to uncover the full potential of this tool, yet a mere scratch on the surface has already revealed huge growth potential for businesses that have begun to work with AI.
Cybersecurity: Cybersecurity has long been an addendum to the Information Technology world, but current trends are indicating that it will soon become critical to business functionality as companies gravitate more toward cloud computing. Data security and protection is a constantly growing concern for larger businesses, and it is becoming imperative to make cybersecurity a necessity in business operations.
Blockchain: Blockchain is becoming an increasingly heard-of term in the IT sector, owing to its immutability and transparency. This technology is becoming popular in financial applications, and business benefits are becoming more far-reaching. Blockchain systems hold promise for supply chain management, incorporating complete transparency into the journey of materials from origin to final products and allowing better record management for the same.
Internet of Things (IoT): A digitalized world requires informed business and greater clarity about consumer behavior. IoT is becoming popular as a means of data collection and analysis. As device technology shifts more towards IoT, businesses will become much more adept at understanding pain points when designing products.
