Bachelor of Physiotherapy or BPT is an undergraduate programme that deals with the structure of the human body. The duration of this course is four years and once the duration of the programme is over, students are required to complete a six months internship. Physiotherapy is a kind of treatment that is carried through physical forces such as heat, electricity, mechanical pressure, and mechanical forces. Physical therapy is done in order to maintain and restore maximum movement and functional ability throughout the lifespan. Therapy helps to treat disorders without using drugs. Types of Bachelor of Physiotherapy

BPT Eligibility

University Wise BPT Eligibility Criteria
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University
Candidates seeking admission offered by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University are required to appear for IPU CET entrance exam. The authorities will offer admission on the basis of merit or rank obtained by the candidates in the entrance exam. It should be noted that candidates must have passed class 12th with 50 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Also, they should have passed in English.
Medical Trust Institute of Medical Sciences, Cochin
MTIMS offers various courses in healthcare education including Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy. Candidates passed higher secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in Biology and 50 percent marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together. The total intake of candidates in the institute for BPT is 30.

VELS University has specified the eligibility criteria for admission into BPT course. Candidates should have obtained a minimum of 50 percent of marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology / Botany & Zoology.

In order to be eligible for admission into SRM Medical College Hospital and Research Centre, Chennai, candidates should have passed 10+2 with at least 60 percent marks and with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects.
Bachelor of Physiotherapy Admissions
Admission into the BPT programme is done on the basis of the candidate’s performance in the entrance examination. To appear for the entrance exam, candidates are first required to fill out the application form by filling out some basic details such as personal, contact, and academic. It should be noted that the application process will be available only for a specified time period. Only those candidates who will submit the application form before the last date will be able to appear for the exam. All the registered candidates will be able to download the admit card. Candidates must carry the admit card to the examination centre on the test day.
Before filling out the application form, candidates should ensure that they meet the required eligibility criteria. Candidates failing to meet the prescribed conditions and requirements will be disqualified.

NEET is another entrance examination that is accepted by some institutes to offer admission into BPT. NEET is not a mandatory test for admission. It is a specialization that deals with the development of a baby, particularly in the development of a movement. Paediatricians work towards improving the quality of life of children with neuromuscular disorders such as cerebral palsy and autism. .
