UPSC IES/ISS Eligibility Criteria – Nationality
(I) Nationality
Candidates must be either a citizen of India; or subject of Nepal, Bhutan, a Tibetan refugee who came to India, before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Candidates who are of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India can also apply. However, they will have to procure a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
UPSC IES/ISS Eligibility Criteria – Age Limits
Interested candidates must be between 21 years to 30 years. However, there will be an upper age limit for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
UPSC IES/ISS 2023 Eligibility Criteria: Minimum Educational Qualifications
Candidates must have obtained a Postgraduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics. Candidates planning to apply for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subjects or a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics. EWS candidates applying for the IES/ISS exam 2023 will have to produce an Income and Asset Certificate during the document verification.
UPSC IES/ISS Eligibility Criteria 2023: Physical Standards
Candidates who are physically fit according to physical standards for admission to the Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2023 can apply for the UPSC IES/ISS exam.
UPSC IES/ISS 2023 application form
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release the IES/ISS application form 2023 online on the official website on April 19, 2023. While filling the application form candidates will have to fill in their personal & academic details, upload scanned documents, and pay the examination fee. The application fee is Rs. 200 for general, OBC and EWS candidates whereas it will be zero for candidates belonging from reserved categories. Applicants who meet the UPSC IES/ISS eligibility criteria 2023 will be successfully able to apply for the IES/ISS exam. Candidates who successfully submit the application form will be issued the admit card of UPSC IES/ISS 2023.
